Lovely inland diving site that I stumbled across... some of you may have even dived it.

Web addy for all the information is:

http://www.vobsterquay.co.uk/

They have underwater attractions, both natural and man made and fish have been spotted on the odd occasion. Almost guaranteed to see John or Nabbers or both! 8-)

I was at Vobster yesterday, for some reason it was very quiet for a Saturday ;)

Both of my original two buddies cried off (due to a misunderstanding I thought that one was going to be there). Fortunately there was a pair of divers who allowed my to jump in with them.

After kitting up we got in - and my feet felt fractionally warmer standing in the water! Unfortunately one of the divers had an unstoppable free-flow so he got out. The other diver and I went on for a look at the APC, Jacquini II, wheelhouse and crushing works before turning back, around the tail section of the aircraft and back to the slip. A quite short dive of about 45min.

A friend of mine turned up so I went in with him for the second dive. We had a bit of fun and games as during the surface interval all the gear had frozen solid, so we had to sit in the water at the slipway to unfreeze everything before starting. We started off at the APC again, Jacquini and wheelhouse and then went off to look at the caravan. Returning to the wheel house we saw the others and then we headed off to the crushing works, went round the base to have a nosy at the Jesters (found 3 of the 4). A leisurely bimble back gave a 60min runtime.

All in all a nice, if somewhat chilly, day.

Well a bit warmer today :D

Did two short dives in a 3 which worked well.

The vis is improving, no snow melt dragging rubbish into the water, and you could just about see the wheel house from the bow of the Jaquini.

Just thought that I'd said that I'm going to be down at Vobbie tomorrow, going though some skills and drills with my team mates.

Anyone else going to be there?

Been down to Vobster Quay today to drop of some cylinders for filling. Whilst there I was chatting Martin (owner of VQ) and he pointed out something in the weeds near the edge - lots of fish fry!

This means that the fish that were introduced at the beginning of the year are starting to breed & by next year there should be lots of fish to see while you are swimming round the site. They should also provide some good photo opportunities for those budding photographers.
