Entering from The Beach, Pier or Elsewhere
The purpose of this course is to acquaint a diver with the necessary procedures and knowledge to safely dive from shore. The focus of this specialty must be on how to handle different types of surf and shore conditions.
Many great dive sites are accessible form the shore and do not require the use of a boat but do require some basic techniques and information how to execute the dives safely.
Many divers enjoy the independance of shore diving and not being bound to dive center schedules and slack water timings for the boat.

First step is to Get In Touch with us here with us at 'Southern Divers'.
Then complete the academic requirements for your chosen diver certification online. You can get started on this right now (ask us how).
You then join us to complete your in-water skill-development sessions and/or the open-water training dives. Normally we do this with you at one of the inland dive sites or from the shore or boat down on the southern coast.
Who this Course Is For:
The certified diver looking for more information to perform dives proficiently from the shore/beach, various types of entries and exits.
Course Prerequisites:
SDI Open Water Scuba Diver, SDI Junior Open Water Diver, or equivalent
Minimum age 18, 10 with parental consent
What's In It For You:
Upon successful completion of this course, graduates may engage in diving activities without direct supervision of the SDI Instructor* so long as the following limits are adhered to:
The diving activities approximate those of training
The areas of activities approximate those of training
Environmental conditions approximate those of training
*Note: Junior divers (ages 10-14) must participate in Shore and Beach diving activities with a parent, guardian, or dive professional.
Also, the SDI Shore and Beach Diver certification counts towards a single specialty rating to achieve the SDI Advanced Diver Development Program.
